Promoting Awareness-Getting Involved

There are a number of ways to become involved in activities that put a public face on the profession:

  • Participating in national partnerships and initiatives (such as OT Month, Rebuilding America or National School Backpack Awareness Day)
  • Developing local initiatives (such as hosting OT Month open house for the healthcare community)
  • Public speaking (appearing on the agenda at school district or Chamber of Commerce professional days)
  • Hosting a display or exhibit at health fairs or community family-day fairs
  • Promoting your professional activities and achievements through the media
