Wonderful stories about the work of occupational therapy practitioners emerge every day. Yet the profession remains largely under appreciated among the general public, referring health care providers, and others. The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) created The Fund To Promote Awareness of Occupational Therapy as part of a long-term strategy to raise awareness of occupational therapy. The Fund is a 501 (c) (3) organization offering a tax-advantaged venue for donations and other support. The Fund is committed to ongoing resource development to support targeted education, research, and professional development opportunities that will increase the public's understanding and utilization of occupational therapy services.
